- Word forms
It is very important to distinguish different kinds of words and their functions. There are five kinds of word: noun, pronoun, verb, adjective, adverb, and preposition. A word can appear in different forms.

- Count vs uncount nouns
Knowing which noun is countable or uncountable matters in selecting an appropriate article and whether to add s/es at the end of a noun. This is a very basic grammar rule that you should be good at.

- Pronouns
A pronoun is a word that takes the place of a noun. The most frequently seen pronouns are I, me, he, she, you, it, that, they, each, few, many, who, whoever, whose, someone, everybody, etc. You must be able to choose an appropriate pronoun in a sentence and to identify the noun that is represented. - Prepositions
Preposition is a word that signifies a position or acts as cohesive device. There are 4 main types of prepositions.
Prepositions of Time: My parents will be here on Monday in the afternoon.
Prepositions of Place: I left my jacket at home in the living room.
Prepositions of Movement: We're on the way to Las Vegas right now.
Prepositions in Collocation: I apologize for the delay. I know you're mad at me.

- Conjunctions
A conjunction is the word that joins two parts of a sentence. There are two types of conjunctions: coordinating conjunctions and subordinating conjunctions. Coordinating conjunctions join two parts of a compound sentence. They are FANBOYS: for, and, or, but, nor, yet, so. Meanwhile, subordinating conjunctions join a complex sentence. - Verbs
In a sentence, there must be at least one action verb or linking verb. Action verbs are, for example, cry, drive, talk, feel, manipulate, organize, and become.
